Privacy
A short policy for a model that learns.
Conw's whole point is that conversations train the next version of the model. That makes privacy especially worth being honest about, so we've written this in plain English instead of legalese.

§ 1
Who we are
conw.ai is a small, independent AI service operated by a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. The model — Conway-Omega — is trained and served by us. We don't use anyone else's API to answer your questions.
You can reach the person responsible for data protection at [email protected].
§ 2
What we collect
Three things, and not much else:
- Account data. Your email address and basic profile bits, handled for us by Clerk (our auth provider).
- Conversations. Everything you type and every reply Conway-Omega gives you, plus a handful of technical signals (model version, token count, plan tier, the usual).
- Usage analytics.Minimal, server-side operational logs so we can keep the service fast, fair, and not on fire. We don't set tracking cookies and we don't use Google Analytics.
That's the list. We don't collect your location, your contacts, your address book, or anything from your other apps.
§ 3
How we use it
- To run the service and answer you when you're signed in.
- To keep it fast, fair, and not on fire.
- To make tomorrow's Conway-Omega better than today's.
That last one is the one you might reasonably want to opt out of. See Training the model below.
§ 4
Training the model
Yes — your conversations are used to train the next version of Conway-Omega. That's the product. It's why the model you talk to today is meaningfully better than the one we launched with.
Before anything goes into training data we go through a filtering pass: we strip personal information, anything that looks like an API key or password, and the worst of the abuse. We also drop conversations flagged by abuse filters. What survives is what trains the model.
Opting out. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we'll exclude your future conversations from training. Removing the flag from existing-but-not-yet-trained conversations usually still works as long as the next run hasn't started; once a run has finished, the model already saw it, and we can't un-see a weight update.
We do nottrain Conway-Omega on anything you type while you're signed out of a Pro or Max plan without opting in explicitly. Free-tier users train by default unless they opt out.
§ 6
How long we keep it
Account data: kept until you delete your account, then removed within 30 days.
Conversations: kept on our servers while you have an account. After you delete your account, raw conversations are purged within 30 days. Already-trained model weights are not retroactively scrubbed; see the previous section for why.
§ 7
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Send you a copy of everything we hold about you.
- Correct anything wrong.
- Delete your account and conversations.
- Exclude your future conversations from training.
Email [email protected]. We reply within a week, usually faster. If you're in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority; for the UK that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
§ 9
International transfers
Our servers are currently self-hosted in the UK. Some of our processors may store data outside the UK — Clerk, Stripe, and Cloudflare operate globally, for example. Where this happens it's covered by the relevant Standard Contractual Clauses.
§ 10
Children
Conw is not for under-13s, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has signed up, email us and we'll close the account.
§ 11
Security
Conversations are encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to the people who actually need it to run and improve the service. We're a small team, so that list is short, and any access is logged.
Even so: don't paste passwords, API keys, or anything you wouldn't put on a postcard. The model learns from these chats; assume the worst and save us both a hard conversation later.
§ 12
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when anything material changes and bump the date at the top. For big changes — especially anything that broadens what we train on — we'll email signed-in users first.
§ 13
Contact
A human reads [email protected]. Send privacy questions, data requests, complaints, or birthday wishes there.
